Finding our way

Bienvenue!  We have arrived in Paris. Our flight was an overnight one, so this entire day of activities was mostly about acclimating - which was all our tired selves could manage.  First, we must acclimate to pastry.
That went well.  Next, it was learn to use public transit.  We did fine with the metro
Paris is about the details. Just look at this  Art Deco sign
We also tried to acclimate to the buses-though that didn't go so well.  One was to go from near our hotel in the Marias , past Palaces and the Louvre, and straight to the Eiffel Tower. (And it was mostly okay-we did pass many things and the city bus squeezes through a tiny archway to arrive right by the Louvre pyramid. It was quite a feat of precision driving). But it turns out we took the wrong version of the bus, so my first glimpse of the Eiffel was this.
After a bit more walking, and discovering that Dominos delivers (by motorbike)
 we got there eventually.
We also walked on Rue Cler admiring the flowers and cheese displays
Then it was time for dinner- an early for the French 7 pm- but just right for our jet lagged selves.  The food was delightful- and I finished with a cold strawberry soup with a scoop of sorbet.  A good first day.
